Unfortunatley, QuickBooks only offers a rudimentary budgeting alternative. QuickBooks has a budget process, but unfortunately it only provides an income statement approach and does not provide you with a budgeted balance sheet and budgeted statement of cash flows. There are add-ons and other budgeting programs that fill this need and they are not expensive. We will use our own business software for the following:
- Set up monthly,quarterly or annual budgets
- Based on history
- Be prepared to to know your future cash flows
We will assess your budgeting needs and can help you develop both short-term (weekly, monthly) cash flow projections to help you manage daily cash, and long-term (annual, 3-5 year) cash flow projections to help you develop the necessary capital strategy to meet your business needs. We will help you identify the larger recuring cash flow outlays, such as rent,mortgage or large vendor obligations.
We also prepare historical cash flow statements using business software to help you in the budgeting process to gain an understanding about where all the money went.
